- The word "psychology"
is the combination of two terms - study (ology) and soul (psyche), or mind.
The derivation of the word from Latin gives it this clear and obvious
meaning:
"psyche" is defined
as: "soul" is defined as:
1. The spirit or
soul. 1. the spiritual or immortal elements in a person.
2. The human mind. 2. a person's mental or moral or emotional nature.
- The above definitions
are straight out of the dictionary. The first definitions for each are their
original and true meanings. The latter definitions came ..much later.
- There has been much
written on trader psychology encompassing the various issues that affect our
trading, hindering profitability, namely FEAR and GREED. Reading or listening
to the causes of fear and greed presented in articles, books, and speeches can
be the first step towards profitability and/or more profitability in trading
if this brings forward your awareness that you are powerful and must act to
affect a change. The desired changes you seek will not, in most cases, occur
from the intellectual exercise of reading the why's of what is holding you
back.
